Online Marriage Counseling?

My husband and I have been married for four years now and we have a 2 yr old son. We married after a rather short courtship. Currently we are having more problems and the problem lies with our communication and how the other person feels about something. We have tried marriage counseling, but found it hard to find a counselor that is available on weekends or does not inject religion into the situation. Has anyone tried online marriage counseling? How does that work? Does it work?
Please help us because I know we need to solve these problems now or else we’ll continue to have an unhealthy marriage.
Thanks!

The Mars & Venus series of books about male/female communicaton has a website where you can access counseling over the telephone. It wasn’t very expensive, either. $20 for 20 minutes. A therapist is $100 for 60 minutes. The books are really good, but I haven’t tried the counseling service. Sounds like it might suit your needs, though.http://home.marsvenus.com/

I do provide online marriage counseling and would suggest it as an option. Many genuine marriage-counseling services do exist online. Most counselors do provide proof of qualifications. Not all counselors do inject Religion into counseling. All will depend of the school of thought and the methods of the counselor. My approach is narrative, solution focused and collaborative. I provide a constructive online correspondence around your marriage. I am skilled in the facilitation of change by email. I have a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling. You can also find counselor communities on some websites for a broader range as to the kind of counseling that would suit you.
Look at these websites for more information on how counseling is provided. You can also email them and ask them for more information.

Yes, my wife and I are currently using marriagemax.com. The program is a little corney at times but covers a lot of issues in a marriage. You both need and want to do the course in the book, if you do not it may not save the marriage but the information if applied will work. You will deffinatly learn more about your spouse.

Jessica, personally I think that on line help is pretty feeble and quite unreliable. I’m certain that if you were to search hard enough that you would find someone whom you both could trust and have faith in. Perhaps if you spoke with your family doctor he could recommend someone who he believes is a good resource. Best of luck.

I know that scheduling is a problem, but I would think online counseling would not be helpful. Its not the one on one face meeting. Is there no other way?

I wouldn’t trust an online counselor for all you know it could be some kid who figured out how to set up a website
