I’m going to try and make this short…….I’m 30 years old and never been pregnant, no miscarriages or abortions. I’m on my second marriage my ex has children and my current hubby does also. I finally decided to go to a reproductive specialist, my appointment is in three weeks. I’ve been reading a lot of the forums and the vast majority of some sort of AF issue, which isn’t my case. I come on each and every month and it’s been this way since I was 9 or 10. I’m wondering if it’s possible that I can have blocked falliopian tubes? I’m just not sure what could be causing this. I’m a little nervous, because I’m scared of what the doctor might say. Can anyone give me any advice such as; have you ever had blocked tubes, what caused them to be blocked? What’s the procedure to unblock them? Is it painful.
Also Is it normal to have never been pregnant before? most stories I here about women have had miscarriages, or abortions or something but, I don’t know I have so many questions.
Thx

I will be 31 in July and have never been pregnant and never had an abortions. My husband doesn’t have any kids, but most all of my ex-boyfriends do as well. I have PCOS and a fibroid. I also had an HSG done (hysterosalpingogram) and found that one of my tubes is damaged. They were both open which is good, but the left one is damaged. I did have an STD a long time ago so that may have caused it. Have you had any infections or STD’s that you know of? I think you are on the right track with going to the Reproductive Endocrinologist. You also need to have a blood test (progesterone test) done to ensure that you are ovulating. It sounds like you have regular periods, but you may not be ovulating. I have irregular periods but they come every month … however, I don’t ovulate regularly. Your doctor will also probably check your thyroid and other hormone levels. Right now I am waiting to see if I’m pregnant. I started my first round of Clomid 50 mg last month, so … wish me luck. I also wish you the best of luck and hope you get pregnant soon!

Hi
I am 20 and never been pregnant i have been trying for 2yrs with my boyfriend with no sucess..
I am regular 28 day cycle.
I have had all the tests and all came back normal
To test if you have blocked fallopean tubes they proforme a hystersologram - they inside a mental thing inside your virgina to open it up, put a tube inside you and pour dye through the tubes they see this on the xray and if the dye runs through then your tubes are clear if it doesnt then theres a blocked tube.
Hope this helps!

I’m in a similar situation, and have been charting my temperatures, checking EWCM and all that stuff for the last 16 months. I’m 38 and my husband already has a child, so I’m feeling like it’s all my fault! Anyway, this past Monday I took all the charts to my OB nurse to begin the process of finding out what might be wrong. These charts (cycle length, temps, CM etc) are, in her words, ‘textbook charts’. They’re perfect. They would be a fabulous example of what a healthy, ovulating woman should look like. In short, she said there is no reason why I can’t get pregnant!
I love my nurse, but can you imagine how incredibly frustrating this is?!!! I’ve never been pregnant so I simply have no idea what to expect, and the next step will be to have things checked out. The HSG is what they do to check your tubes, and I’ve actually heard very good thing about it, including that it can help flush out any small blockages and help get pregnant! It’s basically a dye that they put into your fallopian tubes to take a look at what’s going on; doesn’t hurt at all. They also might do a test for FSH and/or progesterone levels, but if your cycles are normal, maybe they won’t bother with them and just got straight for the HSG.
Anyway, I wish you the very best of luck and hope all goes well! xoxoxox
