What Happens During Mediation In A Divorce, If One Spouse Has Requested Marriage Counseling? Is This When The

judge lets you know if he grants it or not?

    during mediation you actually bargain. both sides try to settle many issues that would take forever in court and cost thousands in lawyers. After the settlements are agreed upon by both parties and their attorneys, they are submitted to a judge who at that point will most likely sign it in as court order

    The judge should let you know what your options are.

    In mediation…you have to agree to what is submitted. That agreement is submitted to a judge then becomes a court order, The key word is “agreement”. not forcing your ex into counseling. I think that mediation is bullhockey and a total waste of time and money. Just my opinion.

    No, this is when you work out the terms of the divorce.
    You discuss and compromise agreements such as: child custody, property settlement, debt settlement, etc.
